At halftime, the Giants lead the 49ers 10-7 at Candlestick Park. Alex Smith and Jim Harbaugh have to get the passing game going. Other than a 73-yard TD pass to Vernon Davis (who promptly got a silly penalty for standing on a box, and another 15-yarder for jumping on someone’s back further on in the game), the offense has been shut down and only has 4 first downs.
The Giants get the ball to start the second half, and Eli Manning has 181 yards, 1 TD and has been sacked twice.
Both teams have recovered their own fumbles, though it’s unclear if the rainy conditions affected those plays. Both punters, 49er Andy Lee and Giant Steve Weatherford, have dropped a punt inside the 20.
