Gridiron Gab NFC Championship Game Preview – New York Giants at San Francisco 49ers

One day, one team, one game. That is all that stands between the San Francisco 49ers and a trip to Indianapolis and Super Bowl 46. That team as you well know is the New York Giants, and they are very well determined to make sure that they are the ones that head to Super Bowl 46, not the 49ers.

Both teams come into this game sporting tough defenses, and suddenly potent offenses. Each team will look to kill the run game of the other team, and both can get pressure on the quarter back by sending only 4 men. The question is: Who does enough to make it to Super Bowl Sunday?

Offensively the Giants and 49ers are a lot alike, they both like to run the ball as a first option and both do it very well. The Giants averaged 89 yards per game on the ground, and the 49ers average 127 per game. The Giants have a better passing game, but don’t count out the 49ers passing attack as they managed to keep up and out score the high powered Saints.
