Denver Promotes Matt Russell to Director of Player Personnel

The Broncos today announced the promotion of Director of College Scouting Matt Russell to Director of Player Personnel. A Butkus Award winner at the University of Colorado, the 38-year-old was hired in Denver in 2009 after spending seven seasons as a scout with New England and Philadelphia.

“Matt’s energy and passion for his work have earned him a tremendous amount of respect from those inside our organization,” Broncos Executive Vice President of Operations John Elway said. “His leadership and evaluation skills make him the perfect fit to oversee the player personnel departments.”

Before joining the Broncos, Russell spent seven seasons in scouting departments with the Eagles and Patriots.
