UPDATE: Knox is out for the season, has a recovery timetable of three-to-four months.
Chicago Bears wide receiver Johnny Knox will undergo surgery on Monday to stabilize vertebrae in his neck, the Bears announced on Sunday night.
Knox was taken off the field in the first quarter of today’s 38-14 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Following a 17-yard reception, Knox fumbled and while attempting to recover the loose ball, converged with Seahawks defensive tackle Anthony Hargrove, who outweighs Knox by over 100 pounds. Knox was bent back awkwardly by the collision.
