The Browns announced that defensive end Jayme Mitchell has been downgraded to “Out” tomorrow’s game against the Bengals. Mitchell missed Thursday and Friday’s practice and had been listed as “Questionable” with an ankle injury on the team’s Friday injury report.
Originally signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi, Mitchell was traded to the Browns in 2010. Signed to a two-year deal, $6.5 million contract, which included a $3 million signing bonus, in August, Mitchell opened the season in a starting role for the first time in his career. In nine games, including eight starts, Mitchell has 24 tackles and 1.5 quarterback sacks.
