The Browns have promoted practice defensive end Kiante Tripp to the 53-man roster, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Undrafted out of the University of Georgia, Tripp signed with the Falcons in July and had four tackles in three preseason games before he was waived at the end of training camp. Tripp joined the Browns’ practice squad in October.
To make room for Tripp, running back Thomas Clayton has been placed on waivers.
Signed when injuries sidelined Peyton Hillis and Montario Hardesty, Clayton, who led the Seattle Seahawks in rushing yards in the preseason, had 12 yards on eight carries with one receptions for three yards over the last three weeks.
