D.J. Moore out; Hester probable Sunday at Oakland

Nickelback D.J. Moore will miss his second straight game on Sunday, as the Bears prepare to face the Raiders.

On the good side, the playmaking defensive back is making progress, according to coach Lovie Smith.

“He’s making progress,” coach Smith said. “He’s walking a lot better. But he hasn’t done anything this week so maybe a little bit longer. He’s getting some good mental reps though but the physical part is just not quite there yet.”

Corey Graham, who has an interception in back-to-back games, will replace Moore this weekend.

Windy City Flyer ready: Devin Hester will play against Oakland despite missing a second straight practice session on Friday.  He is dealing with a shin injury.

Long snapper signed: The Bears announced the signing of veteran long-snapper Chris Massey on Thursday.

Massey replaces rookie Jake Laptad, who was placed on waivers just two days after signing a three-year contract to replace longtime veteran Patrick Mannelly, who was placed on injured reserve with a torn ACL.
