On the day after the Patriots promoted Ross Ventrone from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, the club placed the first-year safety from Villanova on waivers, Mike Rodak of ESPN Boston reports.
No corresponding transaction was made and Ventrone’s spot on the practice squad remains open. Should he clear waivers, he’ll likely be back on that eight-man unit this week. According to Rodak, this is the 17th transaction the Patriots have made with Ventrone this season, who has one tackle in six games. Injuries at the safety position could lead to another transaction this week for Ventrone.
