LT Will Beatty out indefinitely with a detached retina

The Giants were worried that LT William Beatty’s back would give them problems. What they didn’t know, though, was that it would be his eye that would cause them the most problems. The Giants announced today that Beatty will undergo surgery to repair a detached retina in his right eye. The timeframe for recovery has yet to be determined, though it usually takes weeks for a person to shake the blurry vision that occurs with the surgery. Beatty will have surgery on Thursday. After the surgery the Giants will likely release a timetable for his recovery. With that being said, the Giants have a few options:

Option 1: They can plug in Stacy Andrews at LT, keeping the line in-tact.

Option 2: Shift LG David Diehl to LT and plug in Kevin Boothe at LG.

******* Coe to IR; Blackmon back. *******

The Giants have signed CB Will Blackmon, who was with the team last year, to replace CB Michael Coe who was sent to the injured reserved list. Coe will have surgery to repair a broken arm.

Blackmon was the Giants KR and PR last season when he was healthy. If he is healthy, he might take over both return duties.
