Brandon Lloyd has brought something to the Rams wide receiver corps that has been lacking since Torry Holt took off his Rams helmet for the last time in a NFL-quality wide receiver. The Rams only have to give up a 5th round pick for him (if he continues his current pace) in the 2012 NFL draft and a lot of TV pundits and Rams fans have indicated that they think it would be a great idea to resign Lloyd to help the moribund Rams offense over the next few years.
However, it all looks like a good idea from this side, but would Lloyd even want to resign with a franchise that looks like it is going nowhere? What about if offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is fired after the season? Lloyd has had his best success with McDaniels over the past 2 years of his career.
The Rams are terrible and have been terrible over the past 8 seasons. Why would Brandon Lloyd even want to sign up for this level of misery and bad offensive play for the next few years? I have no idea whether or not Brandon Lloyd wants to come back to St. Louis, even though he had said all the right things in the press. But resigning Lloyd is less than a slam dunk, even if the Rams want him back. I am surprised when any player actually wants to play or stay with the Rams franchise.
