Cutler has a fractured right thumb; could be back for Regular Season

Could we see Cutler back for Christmas night in Lambeau?

Although Jay Cutler’s fractured right thumb will require surgery on Tuesday, the Bears are still hopeful that Cutler will be able to return to action before the end of the regular season.

You know what that means – they can envision him returning for the rematch with the Packers on Christmas in Week 15.

Cutler sustained the injury early in the fourth quarter while trying to tackle cornerback Antoine Cason, who had intercepted a Cutler pass after intended receiver had Johnny Knox slipped.

“Jay does have a right thumb fracture,” Lovie Smith said on WBBM. “We took X-rays last night and he’ll be seeing a specialist this morning and we’ll be able to tell you a little bit more after that.”

I have a feeling Jay will return for the showdown in Green Bay.
