It’s a Sunday Night Party, as the Giants look to bury the Eagles in the division, and exert their supremacy over that team down south.

It’s going to be the Eli Manning show tonight, as the Eagles have not been a great defense. Look for Jake Ballard to have a big game, as the Eagles linebackers are worse than the Giants’. With DRC out, that leaves the Eagles down to two of their corners, making Victor Cruz liable for a big night. Hakeem Nicks might draw single coverage, which is great, because Nicks is unstoppable in single coverage (which is another reason why Nicks, although not having the best statistical year, is the most important player on the Giants. Teams can’t leave Nicks in single coverage. He’ll win. They have to double him. So that leaves someone open, usually Victor Cruz. When Nicks is out, defenses can do a better job of spreading coverages.) The run game might also get going, because like I said, the linebackers suck for Philly. I still think that the Giants need to get the running game going, because that’s Giants football. We’ll see if they can this week.
With Vick likely out, along with Maclin, the Giants already have an advantage. The Giants will have to stop LeSean McCoy. They could not do that during the first matchup, and frankly, I was surprised the Eagles didn’t use him more. They might tonight. Shady McCoy is a top back, and very elusive, something that the Giants have issues with. With Vick out, and DeSean Jackson being just an idiot, I think that McCoy is going to get a lot of rubber. Which is a good thing for the Eagles, because he’s terrific. I don’t want to dare the Eagles to throw, because Vince Young can make plays. You have to watch out for him when he leaves the pocket. So, the Giants will have to get a push from Canty and Joseph. That will be huge.
If anyone had the Eagles at 3-6, raise your hand. And then put it down, because you didn’t have it that way. The Eagles are struggling. Whether it’s chemistry issues or what, there’s something up in Philly. They are coming off a bad loss to Arizona. They are most likely not going to make the playoffs. Is Andy Reid’s job in trouble? Maybe. But, you cannot take the Eagles lightly. At all. This is a very talented team, despite their issues, and any Giants-Eagles game is bound to provide some fireworks. Yes, there’s no Vick or Maclin. But, I still think Vince Young can make plays, and obviously McCoy is a huge threat. There’s still talent on this team, and for the Giants to overlook them would be foolish.
This is a tough one. The Giants are playing much better than the Eagles. No doubt about that. Still, the Eagles are talented, plus they’re going to have to fight for their lives here. Giants Eagles games are always tough to predict. That said, I do think there’s something special about this Giants team, something a little different. I can’t explain it, but there’s a mojo. It should help them. Will it be a tough game? Sure. The Giants cannot make mistakes. But, I think they’ll be able to come out on top: Final score: Giants 17, Eagles 10
