A Preview of Week 11

When Tampa is throwing: The Pack have been making big plays off of struggling quarterbacks – Sam Bradford, Kyle Orton, Philip Rivers – and Freeman is one. Edge: Green Bay.

When Tampa is running: The Pack have an overrated run defense. Edge: Tampa.

When Green Bay is throwing: Even if Talib and Barber weren’t struggling, Rodgers would attack the weak Bucs linebackers. Edge: Green Bay.

When Green Bay is running: It’s a shame McCoy wasn’t playing alongside Haynesworth. That may make the Pack edge “slight”. Edge: Green Bay.

PREDICTION: The Buccaneers can win this game. Unfortunately, for them, more things than usual have to go right. Houston is a much more well-rounded team than Green Bay, so they need to succeed in fewer areas than last week. Yet, the Packers excel at the big plays on offense, something that has stung the Buccaneers since Raheem first got there. Packers 17, Buccaneers 14.

I don’t expect Josh Freeman to be more accurate than Aaron Rodgers, but their teams are executing in general on different levels based on the past four weeks. Today could be the day the momentum switches, but – even if these teams were equal in talent – the Packers coaches have me picking them. Packers 20, Buccaneers 17.
