Rams Should Sign Fendi Onobun

UPDATE: So much for that, Fendi is already a Jacksonville Jaguar.  And also former Ram, Schuylar Oordt was signed to the Jaguars Practice Squad (Hat Tip, TST).  Where is Ben Guidugli when you need him?

I’m not going to claim to be the first person to come up with this idea, but with the Rams down to the fearsome combination of Billy Bajema and Steven Spach at the tight end position for Sunday, they will need to make a move at the tight end position.  Spach and Bajema are more blocker and special teams types at tight end and with Lance Kendricks not practicing at all last week, the Rams need an athletic receiver type.

Enter stage left, Fendi Onobun, who has just recently been signed to the practice squad by the Washington Redskins.  The way the NFL rules work is that any NFL team can sign a player to their active roster from anyone’s practice squad.  Onobun (hypothetically) has some idea about the Rams playbook, having been in St. Louis in the preseason.  He was on the active roster all last season, so the Rams brass and players are all already familiar with him.

Fendi Onobun is the perfect player to fill the Rams depth problem at tight end for the rest of the season to audition for a place next year.
