If there’s going to be a quarterback controversy with the Cardinals, it isn’t going to happen until Kevin Kolb is healthy enough to play again. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt knew he was going to hear about it Monday at his weekly news conference and he defused any talk of a controversy between Kolb and John Skelton.
“There’s really nothing to discuss right now,” Whisenhunt said, a day after Skelton helped lead the Cardinals to a 21-17 victory on the road against the Eagles. “Kevin hasn’t been cleared to practice yet. He hasn’t practiced in two weeks. We can’t even really assess where he is.” Skelton has now won back-to-back starts filling in for Kolb, who suffered a bad bone bruise and turf toe on his right foot in a loss at Baltimore.
