The Bengals have promoted practice squad cornerback Brandon Ghee to the 53-man roster, Ghee’s agent, Andy Ross, tweeted on Monday.
No official announcement has been made, but Ghee likely takes the roster spot of Leon Hall, who is headed to the injured reserve list after tearing his right Achilles’ tendon in Sunday’s loss to the Steelers.
A 2010 third-round pick out of Wake Forest, Ghee had nine tackles, including seven on special teams, in six games as a rookie before a groin injury ended his season last December. Ghee had four tackles in two preseason games, but did not make the team’s 53-man roster and was placed on waivers.
Ghee re-signed with the Bengals’ practice squad at the start of the regular season.
