Marcus McNeill said he felt better Monday, four days after suffering a neck stinger, and there is hope the Chargers starting left tackle can play Sunday at Chicago. Still, he was scheduled to see a specialist after a second neck injury in four weeks caused him to leave another game early. “There’s stuff you got to take care of,” McNeill said.
“You’re always concerned any time anything happens to you. They’ve got great specialists, and that’s why I’m going to make sure I’m playing it as safely as possible.” McNeill has a history of neck problems, including an injury he played with the entire 2008 season that required a fusion that offseason. He left the Chargers’ game at the New York Jets on Oct. 23 in the first quarter and this past Thursday’s game against the Oakland Raiders in the first quarter as well.
