Is the Bears defense Super Bowl Bound?

Can you deliver a more dominant performance than what the Bears defense handed out against the Lions on Sunday at Solider?

Which begs the question: Is this unit Super Bowl bound for Indy come early February?

There is not a team, other than the Packers (bring ‘em on Christmas night), that can touch the Bears at this moment when you consider the way the defense is playing.

The defense is out there having fun and making plays, so much, it was a laughing affair against Detroit, who supposedly was going to overtake Chicago as the top contender to Green Bay in the NFC North.

“Megatron” is the ninth wonder of the world, right?  Charles Tillman may disagree, as he put together his finest contest as a Bear since his rookie season where he stole a touchdown, and the game against Randy Moss and the Vikings in ’03.

If that wasn’t enough to convince you that this defensive unit wasn’t preparing itself for a stellar rematch with the Packers, and ultimately a Super Bowl trip – then what will?  Julius Peppers (looking healthier) in rare form chasing down Stafford?  Brian Urlacher making yet another heads up play picking up the fumble forced by Peppers on Calvin Johnson?  The list goes on.

Yet, the offense left much to be desired, but still if they win 37-13 against a potential Playoff squad with a dismal showing, what does that say about the defense?  Right now, I wouldn’t take another D ahead of this group.  This speaks volume of how scary they look.  Vintage Bears; and it’s just the start of something special.

If the offense can protect the football and run Forte and keep Cutler upright, there’s no doubt the Bears Super Bowl bound defense can lift the team to Indy at the end of the season.

Oh, and how about Devin Hester?  The Windy City Flyer is ridiculous!  Just another weapon in the arsenal.

The only thing holding the Bears back from headed into Lambeau 11-3 on Christmas night?  I can’t even think of anything, as the team is playing that good and is geared up towards a super run.  You can clearly see it’s a mission-minded group of 11 soldiers.  Enjoy.
