Skelton to the rescue!
John Skelton threw a five-yard touchdown pass to Early Doucet with 1:53 remaining and the Cardinals stormed back en route to a 21-17 victory over the Eagles on Sunday.
Michael Vick had another average showing and the Eagles (3-6) squandered a fourth-quarter lead for the fifth time this season.
Starting for the injured Kevin Kolb, Skelton threw for 315 yards and three touchdown passes to direct the Cardinals (3-6) to their second straight victory.
The Fordham alum threw a game-tying touchdown pass to Larry Fitzgerald in the fourth quarter of a 19-13 overtime win against St. Louis last week that snapped a six-game losing streak.
Fitzgerald had two touchdown receptions and made an impressive, over-the-shoulder diving scoop to set up the go-ahead score in the final quarter. The All-Pro wideout finished with seven snags for a season-high 146 yards.
Scintillating stat: The Cards defense held Philadelphia to 3-15 on third downs.
