Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was the star as he ran for 109 yards and a touchdown to help propel his team to a 22-17 upset of the Baltimore Ravens.
Lynch scored a 1-yd touchdown on Seattle’s second possession as the Seahawks were inside the Ravens twenty five yard line five times during the game settling for Field Goals from former Ravens kicker Steven Hauschka.
Seattle’s defense helped the cause as they turned Baltimore over three times. Two were fumbles by Kick Returner David Reed, while the third was an interception on a tipped pass from Joe Flacco.
Flacco who played one of the best games of his career last week against Pittsburgh struggled to hit open receivers on underneath routes once the deep balls were taken away from the Seattle secondary. He finished 29 for 52 for 255 and 1 touchdown.
That score came late in the Fourth Quarter when he connected with Ed Dickson on his second Touchdown of the game with under six minutes remaining. However the Ravens would never get the ball back to see if Flacco could lead his third comeback in as many weeks. Marshawn Lynch would not be denied as he picked up numerous First Downs on the final drive to seal the Ravens fate.
The Ravens once again have followed up a big win against an AFC opponent with an underwhelming performance againt a team with a losing record. The Ravens host division rival Cincinnati Bengals next week in an all important AFC North contest.
