Ahmad Bradshaw has been ruled out this week, leaving Brandon Jacobs and DJ Ware as the primary ball carriers. Jacobs should be the one to get the most reps with his bruising style but should be limited in his production. The key here will be how many goal line touches he gets and if it pays off.
Andre Johnson has been ruled out Sunday which leaves Arian Foster and Ben Tate to take advantage of the Bucs 26th rushing defense. The Bucs defense does tend to have better performances in the secondary when they do show up so the one dependable play is in the backfield for Houston.
Jahvid Best will miss this week again and it is looking serious for his season status after the signing of Kevin Smith. Maurice Morris should be the lead dog once again but is a risky play against the Bears 12th rush defense. The Bears seem to be riding a wave of stellar defensive play and should do well. Devin Hester has missed practice all week and is questionable here. Keep tabs on his status come game time.
Emmanuel Sanders is out again as expected which secures a healthy amount of touches for Antonio Brown. Don’t expect much from Mendenhall against the Bengals 2nd run defense, especially since the Steelers have evolved into a pass heavy team. Brown should see plenty of targets and has proven he can deliver on them.
With Miles Austin out 2-4 weeks, Laurent Robinson steps in as the secondary threat at wide receiver. The Bills are 25th against the pass but have allowed only 69 yards to opposing receivers (Gaffney, Holmes) their last two games. I expect the focus to be on Dez this week, leaving Jason Witten and Robinson as the ones to do most the damage in the pass game.
Dallas Clark has been ruled out this week against the Jags which leaves Jacob Tamme with the start. While the Jags have been stellar against the pass, opposing offensive tight ends have been the most targeted receivers against the Jags all season. Regardless of who starts at QB, Tamme will get a decent amount of looks. He is the younger version of Clark and should do much more with the ball after the catch. DE Aaron Kampman is out for the Jags which should also make life much easier.
Kevin Kolb will most likely miss this week with his heel issues but is officially listed as doubtful. John Skelton gets the nod but will face an uphill battle against the Eagles.
Mario Manningham was a late addition to the Giants injury report with a knee injury and is listed as questionable. Keep an eye on his status before kickoff.
Lee Evans owners have yet another week of frustration after being listed as doubtful. At this point, it looks like the rookie Torrey Smith has supplanted him regardless of health. The Ravens face a weak pass defense vs. the Seahawks so Smith could make a nice #3/Flex play.
Danario Alexander and Lance Kendricks have both been ruled out this week. Mark Clayton, Brandon Lloyd, and Sam Bradford all will be active and on the field for the first time together. The Browns are actually 1st in pass defense but have gotten torched against the run, allowing 261 rushing yards with 3 scores last week against the Texans. Steven Jackson is salivating right now and makes a solid play.
