The Rams have signed free agent linebacker David Nixon, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Originally signed by the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of BYU in 2009, Nixon has 10 tackles in seven NFL games, with all of his production coming during a three-game stretch with the Houston Texans in 2010.
Nixon finished the 2010 on the Rams’ active roster and went to training camp with the Miami Dolphins.
Nixon takes the roster spot of fourth-round wide receiver Greg Salas, who was placed on injured reserve after breaking a bone in his left leg during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 19-13 overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
