The NFL has announced that Jets linebacker David Harris has been named the AFC’s Defensive Player of the Week.
Harris had five tackles and an interception in the Jets’ 27-11 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. For the season, Harris has 42 tackles, two quarterback sacks and two interceptions, returning one 35 yards for a touchdown.
This is Harris’ first “Defensive Player of the Week” honor, but he was named the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Month for November 2007. Harris is third member of the Jets defense to win the honor this season, joining cornerbacks Antonio Cromartie and Darrelle Revis.
