Once again, it was Phillip Rivers who you can draw a direct line to for the loss of this game. River made two poor reads early on which led to easy Packer defensive scores. This is an issue Rivers has had all season and he does not get a pass this time around since he has Gates in the lineup. He did connect with Vincent Jackson for 3 touchdowns and made a valiant effort to come back in the game, but his errors proved costly once again.
While this is another scar on Rivers resume, the fact remains this is also the best we’ve seen him all season. After the first half of last week, Rivers has looked the closest to the elite quarterback we’ve seen since last year. This seems to be a trend amongst NFL QB’s, with Brady, Rivers, and Brees all struggling with turnovers in comparison to last season.
