Manning, Jacobs anchor Giants offense

Special Contribution by NFL Gridiron Gab Featured Author Adrian Mojia

The Giants came out testing the Pats secondary and it would ultimately lead to two touchdowns in the final three minutes of the game. This was the first scoreless game at half all season, but Manning’s persistence paid off when it mattered most, finishing with the game winning score behind 250 yards with 2 touchdowns and a pick for the day.

His burden was helped along by Brandon Jacobs 72 yard effort and a touchdown which came off a Brady turnover. Jacobs did suffer an injury in the 4th and did not return so that will need monitoring should Bradshaw not be ready next week.

Overall, equal credit has to be given to the Giants defense which never allowed Brady to get comfortable, taking a page out of the Steelers game and running man packages more often than not. With the Giants finally getting healthy on defense, we are seeing what we all expected at end of last season. They are another team which hasn’t received the hype despite their 6-2 record but should garner a flurry of attention after beating Brady in his house.
