WR Julius Pruitt Added to Active Roster; CB Davis and DE Merling Out for Sunday

The Dolphins had added practice squad wide receiver Julius Pruitt to the 53-man roster.

Undrafted out of Ouachita Baptist in 2009, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Pruitt has spent most of the last three seasons on the Dolphins’ practice squad and has just three receptions for 31 yards with a 24-yard kickoff return and a special teams tackle in seven preseason games.

The Dolphins had an open roster spot after placing wide receiver Marlon Moore on injured reserve earlier in the week.

In addition to adding Pruitt, the Dolphins have ruled out cornerback Vontae Davis and defensive end Phillip Merling for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
