Powerful combo leads way: 49ers led by Gore, stout defense notch win in Nation’s Capital

Prediction: The way the defense is playing, you can make a valid case for the 49ers as a serious Super Bowl contender.  Frank Gore is healthy and running the ball as hard as anyone in the league.  The tandem of a strong defense and Gore to go along with a turnover-free Alex Smith, will be too much for Washington in Week 9.  49ers 23 Redskins 10
