Good thing Lance Louis is playing really good football at right tackle.
Bears offensive tackle Gabe Carimi did not practice Friday, according to the team’s official injury report.
Carimi was listed as having full participation in practice the previous day, and the club is still hopeful that the rookie first-rounder will return Monday night against the Eagles.
“He put in a good day [Thursday] so his knee was a little sore so we held him out of practice [Friday],” Bears coach Lovie Smith said.
“We started working him a little bit last week, and we worked him pretty hard [Thursday] so I think you should expect this to happen. We’re not rushing him back or anything like that. We just wanted to see how it played out. But he should be OK eventually.”
I would like to see the former Badger sit this one out, seeing it’s unnecessary to risk him if he’s not yet at full strength.
Consider this: It was originally questioned whether or not his injury would land him on Injured Reserve.
This is not the game to play around with Carimi, especially when you are going up against a defensive line that is as good as it gets rushing the passer.
