The Bolts backfield is out of sorts, according to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Mike Tolbert, who tested his hamstring extensively at Arrowhead Stadium before Monday night’s game, is expected to return on Sunday against undefeated Green Bay. Tolbert leads the Chargers with five touchdowns and is second (Mathews – 30) on the club with 28 receptions.
However, the status of Ryan Mathews, who injured his groin and left Monday’s game in the fourth quarter, and Curtis Brinkley, who suffered a concussion near the end of the game, won’t be known until later in the week.
It is feared that Mathews will miss his first game of the season.
The Fresno State alum has been knocked out of portions of three games this season with thumb, calf and groin injuries.
Nonetheless, he has yet to miss a game, and ranks seventh in the league with 851 total yards from scrimmage.
