Andre Johnson given rest day – status unclear for Sunday vs. Browns

Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak said All-Pro wide receiver Andre Johnson was given the day off to rest, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.

Kubiak said they pushed the talented wideout during Monday’s workout, and Johnson was sore.

The big-play pass catcher has missed the last four games while recovering from surgery on his hamstring.

Originally, the former Hurricane playmaker was told he could be sidelined up to six weeks – he hasn’t played since Week 4 against Pittsburgh.
