Last night the Chargers were at the Chiefs 15 yard line threatening to take the lead. Instead a bad center-quarterback exchange allowed the Chiefs to recover the ball and go on to a 23-20 overtime win over the Chargers.
“I dropped it,” Philip Rivers told Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune. “I dropped it.”
“Six years,” said center Nick Hardwick, “and we haven’t had one on the ground from underneath.”
“It doesn’t really matter what happened,” said Hardwick. “The fact is, it happened. In such a critical situation, it cost us.”
