Bucs sign rookie safety Sims

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced the signing of rookie safety David Sims.

Sims takes the roster spot that was created when the Buccaneers waived rookie long-snapper Christian Yount last week.

Originally signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa State, Sims had two tackles and a forced fumble in the preseason before he was waived in early September.

According to a league source, Sims had a tryout with the Buccaneers on September 20.
