The Redskins have claimed running back Tashard Choice off waivers from the Cowboys, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
Choice had been “Waived/Injured” after being listed as “Questionable” with shoulder and hamstring injuries on the Cowboys’ final injury report of Week 8.
The Redskins have just two running backs — Ryan Torain, Roy Helu — on their 53-man roster after losing Tim Hightower to a season-ending knee injury.
A 2008 fourth-round pick out of Georgia Tech, Choice has rushed for 1,139 yards on 250 rushing attempts over the last 54 games, with eight touchdowns. The 5-foot-10, 218-pound running back has added 64 receptions for 497 yards out of the backfield.
Choice is due $317,647 in base salary for the remaining nine weeks of the regular season. The Redskins host the Cowboys on November 20.
