Down 24-0 midway in the third quarter and the initial eight offensive drives providing nothing to show for, the Saints took a step back in the “Show Me State” on Sunday, falling to the Rams 31-21.
Steven Jackson was too overwhelming for Gregg Williams’ group, generating 25 carries for 159 yards and three touchdowns, while Chris Long sacked a lackluster Drew Brees three times – it just wasn’t the Saints day.
Brees, who entered the contest with already eight interceptions, tossed a pair of picks, one which got returned by Darian Stewart in the final quarter.
In the end, Lance Moore registered a late score for a team that put together their worst performance of the ’11 campaign.
Next: Sunday, November 6 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Noon CT.
