The Lions claimed veteran safety Chris Harris off waivers, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
Harris was waived by the Bears on Thursday.
A second-team All-Pro selection in 2010, Harris is in the final year of his contract and the Lions are on the hook for the remaining $644,118 in base salary this season.
The Lions lost veteran safety Erik Coleman to a season-ending ankle injury. His replacement, Vincent Fuller, has been sidelined the last two weeks with an elbow injury and is doubtful for Sunday’s game in Denver.
Windy City Reunion: After the Lions play in the Mile High City on Sunday, they have a Bye week and then travel to Chicago (November 13) to take on their NFC North division rivals. The last time the Lions beat the Bears at Soldier Field was October 28, 2007.
