No Bills fan will forget Scott Norwood and his infamous missed field goal in Super Bowl XXV against the New York Giants in Tampa. Aside from that historic miss that enabled the Giants to win, 20-19, Norwood’s career with the Bills had mostly positive moments and they will be remembered when the Monday Quarterback Club honors him with its 26th annual Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Distinguished Service Award for 2011.
Norwood will be cited during pregame ceremonies at the Bills-New York Jets game on Sunday, Nov. 6, at Ralph Wilson Stadium and at the Monday Quarterback Club luncheon at the Adams Mark Hotel the next day. Norwood kicked for the Bills from 1985-91. He played in 112 regular-season games over the seven-year span, setting franchise records for total points, most successful field goals and extra points.
