The Titans need to change the ugly results in their running game. Coach Mike Munchak doesn’t plan on changing his lineup to get better results for now. A day after a 41-7 loss to the Texans, Munchak said the Titans plan to focus on fixing what’s wrong with running game rather than swapping out players on the offensive line, or benching Chris Johnson.
The fourth-year pro was held to 18 yards on 10 carries against the Texans. He’s averaging 2.9 yards per carry through six games. “We are not running the ball the way you’d like,” Munchak said. “But when you change the offensive line it can’t be a one-week thought. You may mess up more things … In the passing game those five guys are doing a really good job. So is it worth sacrificing if maybe we get 10-20 yards more rushing if the quarterback gets hit three or four more times because you have communication problems? You have to account all the factors and sometimes it is not worth the risk.”
