Denver Broncos running back Willis McGahee fractured his right hand during Sunday’s thrilling 18-15 overtime victory in Miami, Lindsay Jones of The Denver Post reports.
The former Hurricane was averaging 4.5 yards per carry and reached the century mark during three of the last five games.
Jones adds that McGahee is expected to visit a specialist and if surgery is required, McGahee could miss significant time.
Minus McGahee, the Broncos’ battered backfield consisted of 2009 first-round pick Knowshon Moreno and Lance Ball combining for 13 carries and 42 yards in the second half against the Dolphins.
Furthermore, quarterback Tim Tebow tallied eight rushes for 65 yards and a two-point conversion on the ground.
