Gates Takes the Practice Field; Listed as 50/50 for Sunday

After being held out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday, Chargers tight end Antonio Gates was a full participant in Friday’s practice and is listed as “questionable” for Sunday’s game against the Jets.

Gates caught eight passes for 74 yards in the season-opener against the Minnesota Vikings, but he was a non-factor in a Week 2 loss to the New England Patriots and has missed the last three games due to pain associated with scar tissue tearing during his comeback from plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

Not practicing on Wednesday and Thursday before doing on-field work on Friday was the team’s plan for Gates this week, so the seven-time Pro Bowler remains on target to play this Sunday.

One addition to the Chargers’ injury report was fullback Jacob Hester, who was limited with a foot injury. Hester is listed as “probable” on the final injury report of the week, which is posted in its entirely below.
