It’s ironic, I am a Cougar struggling with some back problems, and the only Cougar to my knowledge on the Seahawks roster is heading to IR with back problems.
Marcus Trufant, the longest tenured Seahawk currently on the roster, is done for the season.
As Pete Carroll described it “he couldn’t bend over to tie his own shoes”.
I certainly know how that feels, I just had a mid-term postponed because I couldn’t sit/stand in one place without massive pain shooting up my back, it’s finally calming down after 5 days. I would imagine this is more severe than what I have/had going on if it’s keeping him on the shelf for the entire season.
It’s fair to speculate if this is Trufants last season in Seahawks blue. Plenty considered him a potential cut casualty, and if Hasselbeck, Tatupu, and a recent No. 4 overall pick are deemed expendable, than a soon-to-be free agent 30+ year old cornerback on a team where he’s a grizzlied old veteran is not out of the discussion.
It would be unwise, in my honest opinion, Trufant is the best cornerback on the roster and has been for awhile, unless they plan on spending a high draft choice at the position or dumping a BRINKS truck on Brent Grimes’ or Cortland Finnegans’ front porch, they should hold onto him.
Two players signed with the Seahawks today, and they sound like a pair of soon-to-be-former Seahawks. Defensive Tackle Jason Shirley, and Linebacker Stephen Franklin
