Brees outdueled by Freeman; Saints beat by Bucs 26-20

Drew Brees, the definition of accuracy, uncharacteristically threw three interceptions as the Saints relinquished the NFC South lead on Sunday in Tampa Bay; 26-20.

While Brees passed for 383 yards, his counterpart Josh Freeman outmatched him with 303 yards and two touchdowns – and most importantly: zero turnovers.

Overall, the Saints yielded four turnovers and did not generate any takeaways on defense.

It was a disappointing showing by the defense, which allowed over 100 yards from Bucs running back Earnest Graham and a 65-yard touchdown reception by Arrelious Benn.

Other things to note: no sacks, only 70 yards via the ground on 20 carries, and Jimmy Graham recorded his fourth consecutive 100-yard receiving game.

Lastly, good to see Marques Colston get into the end zone and go over the century mark in yards.

Not so good to see: head coach Sean Payton get hurt; torn MCL/fractured tibia.

Next: Indianapolis Colts at 4-2 Saints, Sunday October 23, 7:20 CT.
