Raiders defensive lineman Richard Seymour was fined $15,000 for hitting Texans quarterback Matt Schaub below the knees last Sunday, CSN Bay Area reports.
Seymour was flagged for the play, which occurred with one minute to play in the Raiders’ 25-20 win.
A pair of first-quarter penalties in Week 4 — an unnecessary roughness and face mask — drew a pair of $7,500 fines last week. The $30,000 in fines is about 28 percent of Seymour’s two game checks ($53,529 per week) over that stretch. Few would have sympathy for Seymour, who received a $14.09 million signing bonus from the Raiders in August.
