Though the Raiders’ acquisition of third-year linebacker Aaron Curry from the Seahawks wasn’t made official until Thursday, the team plans to start the former first-round pick at weak-side linebacker on Sunday against the Browns, Jerry McDonald of the Contra Costa Times reports.
“I didn’t bring him here to look at him or figure him out or anything like that,” head coach Hue Jackson said. “He’s the starting Will on this football team. Period.”
Wearing No. 51 with the Raiders, Curry participated in Friday’s practice. The former Wake Forest standout is eager to play for his new head coach.
“Just to know that coach has faith in me that I can come in and play right away is a great confidence booster for me,” said Curry.
