The Lions have placed safety Erik Coleman on injured reserve, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Coleman suffered an ankle injury in the Lions’ comeback triumph over the Cowboys in Week 4.
Released by the Falcons in February, Coleman signed a one-year deal with the Lions before the lockout. In four games this season, Coleman generated two stops on special teams.
Tight end Joe Jon Finley has been signed to take Coleman’s place on the 53-man roster.
