Kenny Phillips fined $20K for hit on Seahawks TE Miller

Giants safety Kenny Phillips has been fined $20,000 by the NFL for his hit on Seahawks tight end Zach Miller, Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports.

Phillips intends to appeal the fine, which is nearly half of the $42,500 game checks from his $722,500 base salary this season.

During an incomplete pass down the right seam, Phillips appeared to launch himself into the head and neck area of Miller, who stayed on the ground following the hit. Phillips was flagged for unnecessary roughness and the Seahawks scored a touchdown two plays later.

Miller would return to play 11 snaps following the hit, but did not play in the second half and has undergone an MRI on his neck.
