If you think that 2010 was a big year for Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe – he’s on pace to have a bigger 2011.
Despite the Chiefs getting off to a slow start, Bowe has been the bright spot, and Sunday that was on display more than ever as the Chiefs rallied to top the Colts in Indy 28-24.
“You know my last name is Bowe, and so everything I do I try to make it un-Bowe-lievable,” Bowe said.
Bowe had a pair of touchdown catches in the game, with seven receptions in all for 128 yards. It was one catch of the 7 Sunday that stands out, that being the TD catch where Bowe bobbled the ball to himself, tipped it, and finally grabbed the ball and held on for a Kansas City touchdown.
Through five games, he now has 23 catches for 420 yards and four touchdowns. Last year on his way to his career-best season, he had 15 catches for 260 yards and three TDs in his first five games.
“Dwayne continues to make unbelievable plays,” Cassel said. “He’s a guy that I trust with all my heart and the ball, especially the ball.”
If things keep going the way they are, Bowe could find himself playing in Hawaii at seasons end. He’s well on his way there already.
