WR Sidney Rice Hit with $7,500 Fine for Unsportsmanlike Conduct

Seahawks wide receiver Sidney Rice has been fined $7,500 for his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in Sunday’s 30-28 loss to the Falcons.

After hauling in a 52-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tarvaris Jackson in the second quarter, Rice made a throat slash gesture.

Rice signed a five-year, $41 million contract with the Seahawks that includes $18.5 million in guaranteed money. Rice is earning a base salary of $2 million, so the $7,500 is just a small slice of his $117,647 weekly game checks.
