The Patriots announced the signing of safety Ross Ventrone to the 53-man roster.
Ventrone signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Villanova in 2010 and spent most of last season on the team’s practice squad. The 5-foot-8, 190-pound Ventrone did not make the Patriots’ 53-man roster coming out of this year’s training camp, but was signed to the practice squad and added to the 53-man roster prior to the Patriots’ Week 3 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
New England released Ventrone last Saturday and re-signed him to the practice squad on Monday.
To make room for Ventrone, cornerback Phillip Adams has been waived.
