Patience May Be Needed Once Again

Today I’ve been thinking about how spoiled we are as Eagles fans. Yes, I know we are having a terrible year. However, I want everyone to think about the success Coach Andy Reid has brought to our beloved city over the years. Many of the years we have been right in the mix. The McNabb experiment paid off. We never won a SuperBowl, but it was exciting while the ride lasted with #5. Now we have moved on to watching Mike Vick resurrect his career in the city of Brotherly Love.

We may go on a winning streak or we may not. Whatever the outcome of the 2011 season, just remember Coach Reid doesn’t have many losing seasons. He will, like he normally does, address major issues, either with players or coaches in the off-season. If this season ends up being one of not many failing ones, you can count on winning seasons being around the corner. So before you decide to jump off the Ben Franklin (famous bridge in Philly), just reflect on the wins Big Red (Hugh Douglas, former Eagle, use to refer to his coach w/ this nickname) has led us to over the years. On to the Lunch Table Picks for the week.

Lets start with our Eagles. I know, by now I am being called a Homer. This is the week when they right the ship. I BELIEVE they pull this one out in up state NY. Birds 34- Bills 24

Okay Saints Fan, let’s just say it. The Saints and The Pack are the elite teams in the NFC, if not the NFL. I like the Saints edging out the Panthers 28-24

Bengal Fan you are 2-2. Let’s call it 3-2 after you take apart the Jags.

Vike Fan, what the heck is going on. Can we finally see a glimpse of the old McNabb, or is it too cold up there in the land of 10,000 lakes. I see Kolb & Fitz coming to the dome and rolling over the Yikes, with a little bit of Beanie sprinkled in for good measure. Cards 38- Vikes 17

Dear Bronco Fan, the best advice for me to give you is to put 25 cents into one of those gumball machines that have toy NFL helmets in them. Whichever team you get should be your new team. You have a better chance rooting for a winner that way. The Bolts 35- Buckn’ Broncos 21

Detroit Fan, I wish you guys would lose so your arrogance would at least die down for a week. Sorry lunch mates. We have to put up with him at least another week. Lions 27- Bears 10.

R-A-I-D-E-R-S (Berman voice) trounce the Texans 28-17.

Colts win, Colts win , Colts Win… or not!! Chiefs 27- Colts 14

Giants over Seahawks 20-14

I believe in Matty, that is Hasselbeck. Titans over Steelers 34-24

49ers will run over the Bucs 28-20

Jets still have issues. Pats 41- Jets 28
