Ryan Brothers to be Inducted Into Southwestern Oklahoma State Univ Athletic Hall of Fame

Jets head coach Rex Ryan and Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan will be inducted into the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Athletic Hall of Fame in spring 2012.

Officials said Thursday the twin brothers played college football at the school before completing their bachelor’s degrees in 1986. The men’s father, former NFL coach Buddy Ryan, had a close friendship with then-Southwestern Oklahoma football coach Bob Mazie.

Rex Ryan was hired as head coach of the Jets in 2009, and led them back-to-back AFC Championship appearances in the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

Rob Ryan has been a coach in the NFL for 13 seasons. In the past seven seasons, he has been a defensive coordinator for the Oakland Raiders, the Cleveland Browns and the Cowboys.
